Hollywood legend Billy Wilder adapted “Emil and the Detectives” for screen and the result is one of the best features for children ever made.
Finally, it’s the summer holidays! Emil is on his way to visit his grandmother in Berlin, but on the train his money is stolen by a bizarre stranger. Emil despairs, but as soon as he arrives he runs into Gustav, the head of a gang of street kids. Along with Gustav’s gang, Emil begins a well organized hunt for the strange pickpocket. More and more children join the thrilling search through the streets of Berlin, before they finally manage to track down the thief.
